This decorative grade of glitter is made from a pure .002” thick aluminum foil. The color coat is not a thermoset layer, as in the higher quality line.
This is made from an aluminized PVC film that is thicker than our premium products and color coated with dyes or transparent pigments. This is considered a high quality “craft” grade glitter and is suitable for dry applications on a variety of materials.
This is a premium line of glitter and is available in a wide variety of colors and sizes. This is made from an ultra thin aluminum foil base, and the color coat is a thermoset crosslinked epoxy system. It is suitable for use in many solvent based systems as well as dry applications. Metallic Jewels are ideal for use in plastics.
This is a top of the line premium glitter that shows more brilliance than any glitter in our line. This is manufactured from a .001” thick vacuum metallized PET film. The color coat is a thermoset crosslinked epoxy system and is available in the widest color offerings of any of our products. It is suitable for a wide variety of applications including, but not limited to, such diverse items as cosmetics, adhesives, plastisols and fiberglass gel coats.
This is a specialty line related to the Polyester Jewels line. Its base film, color coating system, properties and applications are as described under that heading, with the difference being the thickness of the film from which it is made. Micronic Jewels are made from film .0005” thick, thus giving a higher yield per pound, and are available in a limited color range. This product is ideal for screen printing. Standard sizes for this product range from .008” through .125”. Also available in .002” and .004” at additional cost.
This is a unique specialty line of iridescent glitters. These glitters contain no metallic element, but rather get their color shifting and sparkling appearance from the optical properties of the layered polymer film from which they are made. While there are distinct color variations, the films used to manufacture this product are essentially transparent. There is a 300 series Crystalina and a 400 series, and although practically identical in appearance, they exhibit different chemical properties. Use 300 for most standard applications and 400 if it is to be used in a solvent base application. There is a 300 series range of eighteen colors where the film is “self-colored”. That is the color is in one or more of the layers of the film. Having the color, plus the “built in” iridescence makes for a truly unique appearance.
This is among the finest glitter on the market. Holographic products, like the iridescent, obtain their colored appearance because of the optical properties of the flake, rather than any pigment or dye. The base film (PET) is embossed prior to metallizing, which gives it this unique appearance. Alpha Jewels are not intended for use in aqueous solutions.
This is the “gold” version of our Alpha product, and is obtained by applying a transparent yellow/gold color coat over the silver foil. Available in standard sizes from .008” through .125”.
These are die cut shapes ranging in size from .125” to 2.0” (dependent on shape chosen). These are manufactured form many different materials (again, this will be shape dependent) including aluminum, metallized PVC and other material. Shapes include stars, diamonds, hearts, crescents, daisies, dots, snowflakes, and Christmas trees.
This is a transparent product made form a variety of films and can be used as an extender in iridescent or light colored glitters.
This product is ground glass and is available in two different grades, #20, coarser of the two, and #40. This product is used mainly in masonry applications. In instances where appearance, as opposed to durability, is the more desirable trait, amny people are substituting MII Crystal and/or Opalina, because of the more user friendly handling properties of these polymer products.
This is a by-product of the many iridescent films from which we make glitter. The raw material for this may be production start-up batches, end of roll, or roll trimmings, or material that did not measure up to our quality standards as first line material. It is an economic iridescent look. This is cut in random shapes only, but is designated, sizewise, by the largest particle in a given lot.
Iris products utilize either acetate or PVC films and may be transparent or opaque. This product has an iridescent look that is obtained by coating the base film with a transparent iridescent pigment, thus imparting iridescent qualities to the glitter, without diminishing the color of the parent film.

1)resistance: MEK. 15min. / Isopropanol (70°): 15min. / H2O: 24 hours / UV: 1 year central Europe UV exposure |
City-Country polyester-glitter are resistant to a wide range of commonly used solvents such as MEK, Styrol, Tuluol, MIBK, Alcohol, Buthyl/Ethylacetate and many others.
We recommend that the pH value of any solution into which City-Country polyester is added should be maintained between 6.5 and 8. Higher pH levels are likely to cause the removal of the colour-coating on the polyester film.
City-Country polyester glitters are resistant (preferably for a short duration) to a maximum temperature of 175℃. In case of problems due to the electric-charges of the glitter, we can mix the glitters with an anti-static powder upon request of our customers.
Main advantages of City-Country polyester-glitter: ˙exceptional brilliance ˙very low specific weight ˙great resistance against water, solvents and UV rays ˙precision cut, no particle chains
|
![]() ![]() ![]() |
There are many different applications of City-Country polyester-glitter: in the cosmetic industry for nail-polishes, hair gels, hairsprays or for make-up, in the sport or fashion industry for articles in Duroplast or PVC for example and of course in the hobby and decoration industry for paintcolours and decoration sprays.
The very low specific weight of the polyester-glitter allows their use in the paint and varnish industry and for floor and wall coatings.
In the textile and paper industry (wallpapers, giftwrap, etc.), polyester are used trough "sieve-flock-roation or thermo-print methods".
This glitter is also used extensively in the Polyester GRP moulding (gel-coat) industry, especially for custom coatings of cars and motorcycles, crash helmets or fairground rides and for powder-coatings on a polyester basis onto bicycle frames and metal-and wood surfaces in the furniture-industry.
In the Christmas industry polyester are a classic and irreplaceable addition for Christmas tree balls, candles, stars and all sorts of accessories.

Resistance: MEK. 15min. / Isopropanol (70°): 15min. / H2O: 24 hours / UV: 1 year central Europe UV exposure |
Application:
The 300 series (colors 321, 322, 323, 324) of iris rainbow glitter is perfectly adapted for applications into water solutions. For solvent-based applications containing MEK, Styrol, Alcohol, etc. We recommend on the contrary the 400 series (colors 421, 422, 423, 424).
Iris rainbow glitter can be applied to a maximum temperatures of 81℃. City-Country Hologram glitter has very similar properties to polyester glitter. The shade silver 50 μm has a limited possibility of use in solvents. Furthermore the shade silver #50μm is on a long term basis not water resistant, while the shade gold 51A can stand water-contacts.
![]() |
Main advantages: l Exceptional iridescent effect l Very low specific weight l No toxic pigment coating l No aluminium coating
|
This fascinating polyester based glitter is very popular in the cosmetic industry for face and body creams, hair gels, nail-polishes and lip-glosses. It is also very appreciated in the Christmas, Easter and carnival industry for ornaments, decorations or costumes.
In the hobby and craft industry for example for craft paint-colours, for acrylic colours or modelling clays, for aerosol-sprays, etc.
Iris-glitter can be used trought screen, flock or rotary print methods in order to decorate textiles, greetings-cards and wrapping-paper.
Sport articles made of Duroplast or PVC and also be decorated with hologram-glitter silver or gold.
Construction of the iris rainbow glitter:
The iridescent effect is obtained through the interference of light on a multiplicity of ultra-thin polyester films (more than 100), superposed one on each-other. Iris rainbow glitter is available in the color shades #321 (copper), #322 (red/green), #323 (blue/green), #324 (blue/purple).
Construction of the hologram glitter:
The base film of the hologram glitter consists of Polyethylene Terephthalate and is similar to the chemical composition of the polyester glitter. The holographic effect is created by embossing the base film.

Instructions for use:
Aluminium-glitter epoxy is resistant to many commonly used solvents such as MEK, Styrol, Tuluol, MIBK, Alchohol, etc. Prolonged contact to water should however be avoided: a reaction could occur at the cut-edges which would remove the epoxy coating from the film, In extrusion it is recommended to avoid unnecessary sheer-forces on the glitter. Temperatures should not exceed 200℃.
Aluminium-glitter without epoxy cannot be used in aqueous solutions for extended periods. Long-term exposure to the atmosphere can lead to oxidation, with a darkening of the colour of the glitter as a consequence.
1. In the plastic industry it is possible to use Aluminium-glitter epoxy up to a temperature of 220℃. This glitter is very popular in the household articles industry, through a "injection moulding process in black" in order to obtain grantie effects, or in silver for metallic impressions: for the chassis of vacuum cleaners, mobile telephones, espressomachines, etc....
Aluminium-epoxy is the most popular choice in the wallpaper industry. The application of the glitter can be made through a thermal treatment in an air canal up to a temperature of 200℃. This glitter is also suitable for the use in wet wallpapers and epoxy-based powder coatings.
Aluminium-glitter with epoxy coating is also used for powder coating s on an expoxy vesin base. The results in the furniture and sport-articles industry are also excellent.
2. As a more economical choice, the Aluminium-glitter without epoxy has many different applications in the decoration industry: spread in window displays, on tables, in stores, as well as ornaments used in the hobby and floral industry.
